Myrtle Strong Douglas

Ms. Myrtle S. Douglas, 71 of Huntsville, AL was born November 17, 1944 to the late Ollie Lee Strong and Mary Alice Strong. She departed this life on August 29, 2016. Myrtle was a faithful member of Chase Park Church of Christ. Myrtle was employed by Huntsville Hospital for 50 years. Her passion was being a nurse. She loved working beside her fellow nurses, helping people in the community who needed care and cooking for family and friends. Ms. Douglas is survived by three children, James W. Douglas of Savannah, GA, Phyllis Redus (Jefferey) and Kristi McCauley (Darrell) both of Huntsville, AL; five grandchildren, Jonathan (Tamala), Chaka (Kerry), Jasmine, Jayla and Jaléa; three great grandchildren, Alaijah, Juliette and Jakerry; seven sisters, Annie Pinchon (Herman), Fannie Louise Bradford, Marie Bradford, Idova Lewis (Ronald), Dorothy Strong (Greg) and Mildred Douglas (Larry) and the late Lucille Hussein; three brothers, Willie Bone, Jimmy Strong and the late Robert Strong; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Valhalla Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Funeral Services will be on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 1:00pm at Chase Park Church of Christ, with Rusty Hills officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
