Myrna was an avid reader and writer, loved playing games with family and friends, and had a heart to serve people. She worked in the hotel business for numerous years, working her way from night auditor to general manager. She loved her time living and working in New Orleans and Miami Beach. She met the love of her life, her husband and partner Michael Hicks, and moved back to Alabama to help care for her ailing mother.
She is survived by her daughter Crystal Hodgens (Don Combest); brother David Thompson, one grandson, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Michael Hicks, her father, MGySgt (R) Donald W. Thompson and mother Wilma Thompson, sisters Candy Thompson, Donna Ripp, Tammy Davis, and Sharon Bundy.
A memorial gathering for Myrna will be held Friday, April 28, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811.
