Julius Joseph Parden, Jr., 80, Formally of Huntsville, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 in La Fayette, Georgia. Mr. Parden was born in Dundee, Florida on May 11, 1934.
He was preceded in death by parents, Julius J. Parden, Sr. and Katie Belle Cox Parden; wives, Katherine Parden and Helen Parden; daughter, Julie Ann Parden; grandson, Ethan Parden; sister, Sue Weeks; and brother, Doyle Parden.
Mr. Parden was a faithful member of the Chickamauga Church of Christ, serving as song leader and director. He loved to read the Bible and was always ready when called upon to pray. Julius enjoyed nature, flowers and watching birds. After 20 years of service, Mr. Parden retired from the US Army as a Staff Sergeant. He was a devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of almost 15 years, Frances L. Wrape Parden; sons, David Parden and Kenneth Parden; daughters, Kathy Parden and Pamela Burris; stepdaughter, Ann Henry; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at Valhalla Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. in Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Shane Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
