Dianna Sayre Davey passed January 4, 2024 at Huntsville Hospital with her loved ones by her side praying over her and rejoicing in all the good memories that God blessed them with. She was 67 years old when she left this world to be with her Heavenly Father.
She was born June 9, 1956 in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky to Walter and Ollie Sayre. She was the 8th of 9 children. She left Lawrenceburg, Kentucky in her early teens to live with her sister, Annette, in Tuscaloosa Alabama. Dianna helped her sister and husband, Wayne, raise their two boys, Kelly and Jason. Wayne later took a job in Huntsville, and Dianna went with them and enrolled at Johnson High School in 1972. Dianna went on to get her associates degree in Business Administration at the North Alabama College of Commerce. Shortly thereafter, she went to work for Dr. James McMurray. She worked joyously at the Urology office for 45 years. Dianna was so kind and reassuring to patients that the local farmers provided her and family with a cornucopia of vegetables all summer long. She loved her job.
Dianna loved dancing, friends, playing games, her family and church. She attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with her husband, Frederick William Davey Jr, and they worshipped our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, together. Dianna was married to Fred for 40 wonderful years and they shared many adventures together and raised two children, Kimberly and Christopher. Dianna and Fred also had two beautiful grandchildren, Connor and Zoey. Dianna loved so many people and was loved in return by many.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, three brothers (Marion, Don and Troy) and 2 sisters (Annette Dugger and Donna Sayre). She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters (Betty Sue Brooks, Lorita Nickerson, Paulette Helton, and Barbara “Bobby” Sayre).
Funeral services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home and Memory Gardens 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville Alabama 35811 on Sunday January 7, 2024. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm and the celebration of life service will start at 3pm.
