Bobbie Jean Phillips, of Hazel Green, Alabama, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 in Huntsville, Alabama at the age of 82. She was born in Huntsville on March 19, 1938 to Marion F. Berry and Bessie Petty Berry, the youngest of 10 children.
Mrs. Phillips was a graduate of Butler High School. She continued her education at Fifth Avenue Hospital in Huntsville and became a nurse, serving her community at Fifth Avenue for 10+ years. Later, Mrs. Phillips attended Jacksonville State University (JSU) in Jacksonville, Alabama. At JSU, she trained to become a police officer. She protected and served the citizens of Madison County as a Deputy Sheriff, retiring after 30+ years.
Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. She loved her family and was devoted to her community. In her pastime, she enjoyed shopping, bowling, watching General Hospital on the television, cooking, making flower arrangements, quilting and roller skating.
In addition to her parents, those who will be welcoming her are seven brothers, Bill Berry, Jim Berry, Frank Berry, Ernest Berry, Walter Berry, Earl Berry and Alvie Berry; two sisters, Louise Johnson and Ada Sue Taylor; stepbrother, John Thomas and stepsister, Maddie Lou.
Her loving memory will forever be cherished by her husband of 61 years, Billy C. Phillips of Hazel Green, Alabama and her daughter, Deborah Phillips of Huntsville.
