William K. “B-Bob” Asher, 60 of Huntington passed away at 2:20 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at his son’s residence. His younger years were spent in Kentucky and he moved to Indiana with his mother and spent most of his life in Huntington. He had worked for over 12 years as general foreman at HK Porter in Huntington. He had also worked as service manager in restaurant service for many years. He played and sang in several local bands. He loved music, fishing, NASCAR and was a Kentucky Wildcat fan. He was a past member of the Eagles Lodge and Moose Lodge of Huntington.
He was born on May 7, 1951 in Hayden, Kentucky, a son of George and Marie (Wooten) Asher.
He was united in marriage to Christina A. Street on September 28, 1972. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include three sons: Chad Asher of Huntington; Richard (Ellen) Wallace of Columbia City; Kenny Wallace of Huntington; a daughter: Heather (Aaron) Foster of Huntington; four brothers: Damon Asher of Andrews; George Asher of Fort Wayne; Larry Asher of Florida; Bobby Asher of Huntington; a sister: Barb Mayo of Andrews; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Raymond Asher, Harold Asher, Marshall Asher and three sisters: Ruth Asher, Joyce Asher and Juanita Asher.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Chaplain Britney Sloffer officiating.
