Sharon A. Jones

Sharon A. Jones, 76, of Huntington passed away on Tuesday May 28, 2024 at her residence. Sharon graduated from Rock Creek High School. She also graduated from both International Business College and Ivy Tech with Associates Degrees. Sharon had worked at Magnetek for over twenty years. After her time at Magnetek she also worked at Majestic. Sharon and her husband were members of the Chief Promenaders and Twin Bridges Square Dance Club. Sharon attended College Park United Brethren Church. In life she loved sewing, baking, gardening, and traveling. She was especially known for traveling to all her grandchildren’s sporting events. In keeping with Sharon's wishes please dress in bright colors in her memory. Sharon was born on December 25, 1947 in Huntington a daughter of the late Harvey A. and Clarice (Staples) Broom. She was united in marriage to Dewey Jones Jr. on June 20, 1971 in Huntington. Her husband survives. Additional survivors include two sons: Andrew Jones of Huntington, and Charles Jones of Albany, NY; a daughter: Lois Wajer of Palm Beach, Florida; three grandchildren: Bekah Broom of Seymour, IN, Madison Wajer of Huntington, and Hannah Wajer of Palm Beach, Florida; Sisters-In-Law: Marilyn Broom of Albion, IN; Mary Glisson of Huntington; Connie (Don) DeBord of Columbus, GA; Diane (Walter) Emley of Kodak, TN, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother George Broom. A Visitation will be held on Sunday June 2, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, located at 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday June 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., with one hour of calling prior the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made out to Charles Jones in support of Sharon’s grandchildren’s education funds in care of Myers Funeral Home 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.
