Lois M. Swain, 96, of Huntington passed away on the morning of December 4, 2024 at The Village at Inverness in Fort Wayne, IN. Lois spent her life farming with her husband. She had worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, spending time at Huntington Memorial Hospital, Huntington College, and teaching for the Red Cross. After retirement, her and her husband loved to travel. They visited all 50 states. In her free time, Lois enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, and all crafts. She had made hundreds of afghans.
Lois was born on April 12, 1928 in Huntington, IN to the late Raymond Miller and Dorothy Brown.
She was united in marriage to Keith Swain on August 27, 1949 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2020.
Survivors include three daughters: Kay (Kirk) Caley of Huntington, Debra (David) Switzer of Huntington, Linda (Brian) Schafer of Huntington: a son: Mark Swain of Columbia City: eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers: Ralph Miller and Robert Miller.
There will be no public services held at this time.
