Evelyn Louise Whitesell, 81, of Huntington, passed away at 4:47 am on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. Evelyn was a member of the Lighthouse of Truth Church of God. She loved to play cards and board games. She and her husband, Bud, ran a flea market stand for many years. Evelyn loved to garden and she loved her dogs.
Evelyn was born on November 9, 1935 in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Ashby A. and Lucy A. (Ruble) Robbins.
Evelyn was united in marriage to Willard D. “Bud” Whitesell on March 14, 1954 in Warren. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2011.
Survivors include a brother – in –law and sister- in –law: Paul and Edith Whitesell of Huntington; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Carol J., Marshall L. and Daniel F. Robbins; two sisters: Dorothy B. Baker and Bernice E. Uncapher and five infant sisters: Ruth E., Janet, Violet, Lucy Ellen and Barbara Ellen Robbins; her stepmother: Sarah (Ruble) Robbins and several step brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
