Dennis J. Kammerer, 70 of Zanesville passed away Saturday evening October 29, 2022 at the Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne. Dennis had worked as a chimney sweep for 38 plus years. He worked making maple syrup for many years as well. He graduated from Enfield High School in 1970. He received an associate’s degree in 1972 from Ashland Community College in Ashland, Ky., and a B.S. in psychology with a minor in sociology in 1978 from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fl. He did post-graduate work in communicative arts at Asnuntuck College in Enfield, Ct. He was active in his son’s cub scout and boy scout troop. He was also a member of the Ossian Conservation club along with his wife. He enjoyed wood working, painting, doing body work, working on old cars, and going to car shows. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing his guitars. He loved going to the rodeo and helping out, spending time with his friends and family. He also enjoyed going on road trips with his wife.
Dennis was born on October 29, 1952 in Winsted, Ct. a son of Joseph G. Kammerer and Frances L. Chaplen.
He was united in marriage to Joyce A. Sampson on April 4, 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; his mother: Frances Kammerer of Enfield, CT; a son: Dennis J. Kammerer Jr. (Katherine Thompson) of Broomfield, CO; a daughter: Desaree (Andrew) Bristow of Ossian; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Two brothers: Neal (Patty) Kammerer of Enfield, CT and Brian (Mary) Kammerer of San Diego, Ca. and a sister Joanne (Paul) Deschamps of Wickenburg, Az.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Kammerer; a brother Gerald Kammerer and a sister Virginia Ellen Kammerer.
There will be no public visitation or services at this time.
