David loved his grandchildren more than anything in the world. He was always so proud of them. He definitely wore his Best Grandpa shirt with pride. He was an avid lover of Ford’s. One of his favorite places to be was at Bang’s Muffler Shop with his brothers from another mother, Ron and Brian Leist. David was always there to lend a helping hand no matter what it may be. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. David enjoyed working on cars and drag racing.
He was born on January 12, 1962 in Huntington, the son of the late Glen and Eunice (Henemyer) Hopkins.
Survivors include a daughter: Heather Gillespie of Wabash, two sons: Chad (Jessie) Salyers of TN, Eric Salyer of Wabash; seven grandchildren: Gwen Dials, Madi Gillespie, Eli Gillespie, Wyatt Salyers, Cooper Salyers, Cameron Salyers, Aubrey Salyers and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his spouse: Deb Salyers and a brother: Michael Houser.
There will not be a visitation or services.
