Vinayamma Raju Thomas, 64, passed away peacefully at her home in Lansdale, PA surrounded by the love of her family, on Saturday, March 29, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched countless lives.
Born on May 27, 1960, in Ranni, Kerala, India, Vinayamma embodied resilience and courage. More than 25 years ago, she left her beloved homeland to build a new life in the United States, carrying with her the rich traditions of her heritage while embracing her new home with gratitude and grace.
Vinayamma was the cherished wife of Raju Thomas (Thelapurathu House, Ranni, India) for 40 wonderful years. Together, they built a home filled with love and laughter, raising their sons, Toms and Tony, who, along with their wives, Shiji and Sharon, brought immense joy to her life. She was a proud and doting grandmother to Gabriella, Mekhael, Ariel, and Axel, who will forever carry the warmth of her love in their hearts.
Her quick wit, natural humor and joyous disposition kept her loved ones smiling and laughing until her very last moments. Even quicker than Vinayamma’s wit was her ability to put together a loving meal from scratch, a skill from which many in her family benefited and which her nieces and nephews remember particularly fondly. Whether new acquaintance or old friend, any visitor to her home never left without a full stomach and even fuller hearts.
In her final days, Vinayamma expressed a profound gratefulness and satisfaction with her life’s journey; she was thankful to Christ for the gift of a fulfilled and happy life, lived not without struggle yet overflowing with God’s grace.
She is survived by her loving brothers; Jose, Thampi, Shaji, and Kenny; her dear sisters Silvi and Lyse; and many adoring nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She is now joyfully reunited with her beloved parents, Thankamma and K.P. Pothen Kavumkal, in the loving embrace of Christ our Savior.
Vinayamma’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and unwavering faith. She leaves behind a family enriched by her wisdom, a community uplifted by her kindness, and a world forever brighter because she was in it. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May her soul rest in everlasting peace.
