John Raymond Haas

Jack was born in Philadelphia on October 6, 1931 to parents Valentine and Katherine Haas (both

deceased). As a young boy, Jack loved playing baseball, and went on to have a respectable semiprofessional baseball career. Mr. Haas served his country honorably in the US Army, seeing considerable duty in Korea.

Jack went on to establish a career as a railroad mechanic, working with the same company (first The Reading Company, then Conrail, and then Septa), all in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Upon retirement, Jack moved to the Poconos for a few years, then down to Pinellas Park, FL for the balance of his retirement years. In his final years, Jack moved back to Bucks County, PA. Wherever he went, Jack was especially blessed to have found very special friends (you know who you are Marge, Lisa,

Ross, Jeff and Luke).

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Ann R. Gallagher Haas, and his son, John Haas, Jr.

Jack’s interests included golf, fishing, watching Phillies baseball, serving on his Homeowners’ Association

Council, and especially being “grandpop” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas Haas and Kenneth Haas, his former wife, Jane DeLeon, and his sister,

Lillian Haas. In addition, Jack is survived by his step-daughter, Kathleen Berkelbach, and a step-son,

Charles Gallagher.

Funeral services will be entirely virtual, except for immediate family. Services will be held on Thursday,

February 25 at 2:30 PM. Interment will be private in Florida.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project in his name would be appreciated.
