Vanessa Victoria Wallace

Vanessa Victoria Wallace, 43, of Spring, Texas, was born in Belize on July 19, 1976 to Avis Lewis Budd and Arthuro Wallace. She attended the Holy Redeemer Primary School until Standard 6 and then moved onto St. Catherine Academy for another 4 years. Later, Vanessa followed in her mother’s footsteps and moved to the United States. She lived in Brooklyn, New York for over 20 years before making her home in Houston, Texas in 2005.

Vanessa was a loving mother to her son, Averi, and worked hard to give him the perfect life. She was incredibly smart and kind as well as a fantastic dancer. Vanessa loved to listen to Reggae music and watch live performances, and one year had the chance to come back to Belize so she could join in the celebration of J’ouvert, leaving no one untouched by her fistfuls of paint. She brought joy to so many, and amidst her struggles never stopped being herself.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Avis Budd; son, Averi Wallace; stepdad, Ray Budd; brothers, Curtis Budd, Kyle Budd, Kareem Wallace, Kenyon Wallace, Karil Wallace, and Arlon Wallace; uncle, Lenny; aunts, Aunt P, Cynthia, Margorie, Voila, Shelly, and Edith; granddaughter, Samia; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
