Becky Ober, age 75, of Spring, Texas was born on August 16th, 1943 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 1st, 2019. Becky was the fourth out of six children, born to parents, Hugh Leroy Croom and Sarah Caroline Ralph Croom.
She was preceded in rest by her husband, Chuck Ober and her sister, Elaine Grindle. She is survived by her son Richard Canady; grandson, Ritchie Canady and wife Courtney Canady; granddaughter, Lisa Garcia and husband Carlos Garcia; great grandson’s Jayden and Jace Canady; siblings, Butch Croom, Peggy Fenner, Mary Lynn Webb and Dick Croom; along with many other family members and loved ones.
Ask anybody and they will tell you that Becky was one of a kind. She lived with passion and it showed through the love she had for others and anything she set her mind to. She had a talent and love for making crafts. She would spend hours just making sure they were perfect and she loved sharing them with others. Some of her favorite things to make are quilts, wreaths and ceramic paintings. She also really enjoyed selling her crafts at local shows. A true highlight in her life was her daily 5:30 pm phone call with her only son Richard Canady, who she had a very special relationship with. She was very selfless, so much that she put her life on hold for 6 months to take care of her mother when she had cancer. Becky would not expect nor ask for anything in return because she did things out of the pure kindness in her heart. She remembered everyone’s birthday and always made sure to send a card. To her it was the little things that mattered like that. She was big on doing what was right and she was quick to tell you if what you were doing wasn’t because she wasn’t big on keeping all of her thoughts to herself.
Becky retired from Baker Hughes after working there for 22 years and she was an active member of Spring Baptist Church along with numerous charity organizations.
Becky had tremendous love for her family, her late husband Chuck Ober, her special friends, her cats and of course Diet Pepsi. She was tiny in size but her energy was anything but and she will be forever missed and in our hearts.
