Maurice Eugene Maurer, age 89, of The Woodlands, Texas entered into rest on Friday, September 4, 2020. Maurice was born February 5, 1931 in Springfield, Illinois to parents Annabelle Marie Richardson and Martin Carl Maurer.
A Korean War veteran, Maurice served in the United States Army. After his military service Maurice followed his parents to Houston, Texas, married Wilda Fae Jones in 1953, and enjoyed a 59yr career in the grocery business as a meat cutter and manager. Maurice spent his last years in the Woodlands, Texas, living with his daughter, Christine Maurer. He died peacefully after a long illness, which he endured patiently, sustained with humble faith in God, and with the love of his cherished family, and friends.
He is survived by five children, Christine Maurer, Maurice Maurer Jr., Ronald J. Maurer, Mary J. Boyd, and Catherine S. Lowry, six grandchildren, four great grand-children, brother, Fr. Carl Maurer, and sisters, Lefa Moore and Teresa Brown, who grieve the loss of this sweet, honorable, hard-working, peaceable, humble man, along with loving in-laws and extended family, who entrust his precious soul to our Merciful, Good, and Gracious God.
