Everardo Andres Rodriguez, age 90, passed on to be with the Lord on Friday February 2, 2018 at 3:15 am at Houston Northwest Hospital surrounded by his loving family, only two days shy of his 91st birthday. Everardo was born in Buena Vista, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on February 4, 1927 to Ezequiel and Maria Rodriguez.
As a loving father and husband, Everardo exemplified the values of hard work and a “can do” attitude by working various jobs, including working as a machinist, construction worker, and welder, in an effort to provide a better life for his family. Not one to sit still, Everardo had a love of arborology and had an extensive collection of fruit trees which he groomed to eat and to share with family and neighbors. His love for his trees was rivaled by his love for travel which span the globe. His extensive travels took him on tours of museums throughout Europe, renewing his wedding vows in the Jordan River, climbing the Great Wall of China, and wine tasting in Argentina. Everardo had a passion for the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, swimming, boating and horseback riding. He was an imaginative storyteller, enchanting his children and grandchildren with exciting tales of his treasure hunting, jungle adventures, and dangerous exploits. Everardo always had a smile on his face, loved to laugh, and delighted in sharing his joy and making anyone he came in contact with smile and laugh.
Ultimately, Everardo will be best remembered for the love he shared with his best friend, wife, and soul mate of 62 years. These two love birds were inseparable and an inspirational illustration of true love to all who came in contact with them. Through the adventure we call life and all its twists and turns, their love only grew stronger. They held true to their vows, and stood by each other in the good times and the bad, for richer and for poorer, and through sickness and health. Even though Everardo’s time on earth has ended, the love he shared with Maria is everlasting.
Everardo is survived by his wife Maria Salinas Rodriguez, Daughters Blanca Sinclair and her husband Robert Sinclair, Ernestina Buchanan, Sons Everardo Rodriguez Jr. and his wife Vickie Rodriguez, Mario Alberto Rodriguez and his wife Rosalva Rodriguez, Hector Rodriguez and his wife Margarita Rodriguez, Victor Rodriguez and his wife Ivonne Rodriguez, and Ricardo Rodriguez and his wife Jessica Rodriguez.
