A wonderful and unique man went to a better place where he has no disease or physical limitations. Rene Raymond Fontaine passed away on November 23, 2012 after a long courageous fight against Parkinson’s disease.
Rene was born to Raymond Fontaine and Amelia Coache on June 21, 1937. He lived his childhood in Holyoke Massachusetts.
Rene married the love of his life, Connie Stubbs on December 9, 1983, their love and marriage will reach eternity. Rene was baptized into the LDS Church on January 9, 1994. Rene and Connie were sealed in the Bountiful temple on April 8, 1995. Rene loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and truly lived a Christ-like life.
Rene and Connie centered their lives on their family. Rene was one of the most giving people that friends and family have ever known. Someone who truly gave from the heart. Rene was honest, hardworking and a true fighter to the end. Rene truly enjoyed the simple parts of life, working around his house, playing golf and going out for a nice meal. Rene was a true gentleman, genuinely humble and grateful, an example to us all. Rene greatly enjoyed the family getting together and hearing about the kids’ lives. Rene was the most loving father and husband. We will miss “our Rene” but will carry him in our hearts always.
Proceeded in death by his father, mother and brother, Gerard Fontaine.
Survived by his wife Connie, children, Michael (Annette) Fontaine, Michele Schwartz, Brad Baker, Brian (Tammy) Baker, and Julie (Michael) Baker-Dennis.
Twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren, sister Alice Koske and brother Robert Fontaine.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the North Canyon Second Ward 3350 South 100 East in Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held at the North Canyon 2nd Ward on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 6:30-8:30 pm, and Saturday, December 1st from 10:00-10:45 am. Interment at the Bountiful Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah.
