Lila Marie Ward

Lila Marie "Bug" (Price) Ward, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 in Modesto, California at the age of 96 years, 8 months and 19 days, surrounded by family. She was born September 23, 1922 in Leflore, Oklahoma to Ode Lee and Stella Elizabeth (Linn) Price. On October 4, 1947, she was united in marriage to Woodrow Wilson Ward, who passed away on December 28, 1989 and to this union one daughter was born.

For most of her adult life she lived in Oakland, California, the last nine years at the home of her daughter in Modesto.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband, Woody; her brother, Jack Lewis Price (wife, Wennon); sisters, Lois Elnora Daniels (husband, Jack Marion), Kathleen Viola Price, Nell LaDean Peden (husband, Douglas Jewel), Margaret Francis Sprouse (husband, Felix David); and brother-in-law, Luther Martin Langston. Also preceding her were two nephews and a niece she adored, Michael Eugene Peden (wife, Kathy), Waylan David Sprouse and Marian Gayle (Daniels) Peebles.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Carolyn S. Heaton (husband, Dean), two grandchildren, Chris (wife, Laura) and Katie Heaton; two sisters, Ora Lee Langston and Betty Ann Price; also numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Join us for an Okie Picnic at the home of her daughter, immediately following the graveside services, to celebrate the long life of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
