Geraldine H. Dunkin

Geraldine “Gerrye” Dunkin entered into rest at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, CA on Saturday, August 8, 2015, after an extended illness. Gerrye was born in Los Angeles, CA to Helen and Martin Hirigoyen. She was raised in the Los Angeles area where she attended school. She was a member of the LDS Church for more than 40 years and enjoyed the fellowship and many activities. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidering and making baby blankets and caps for the hospital auxiliary and many grandchildren.

Gerrye was preceded in death by her parents, Helen (Curry) and Martin Hirigoyen, her two brothers Martin and Ralph Hirigoyen, sister in law Mary, her first husband, Homer John Blair and late husband Roy Edwin Dunkin and stepson Eddie Dunkin.

Gerrye is survived by daughters Judie (Bob) Parker, Linda Stotts-Burnett, Diane (Morris) Mundy, Janet (Jay) Peace, step daughter Gail (Vernon) Baumgardner, sister in law Virginia Hirigoyen, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Avenue in Hughson. Visitation is on Friday, August 21st from 4-8pm. Chapel service will be at 1pm on Saturday in the Lakewood Riverside Chapel with commitment to follow in the Tuolumne Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Gerrye’s memory to your favorite charity or to the LDS Church, 6th Ward in Modesto, CA.
