Gabriel Jerraud Lewey Lindsey Turner was born in Berkeley, California to Richard Turner and Letitia Lindsey on July 9th, 1994. He was 29 years old at the time of his passing on December 6th, 2023. He was the eldest of four children to his mother and father. He lived in a few cities as a child including Emeryville and Berkeley, until moving with his mother to the Central Valley in his late elementary school years.
Gabriel married Marissa (Judd) Turner May 1, 2021. They were only married two years; but they were high school sweethearts. Gabriel and Marissa met freshmen year of high school as friends, then started dating their junior year of high school in 2012. They continued to college at Modesto Junior College together, where Gabriel played football. Gabriel and Marissa bought their first home together in April 2019 in Riverbank California. They were engaged at the Oakland Airport on November 22nd, 2019.
Gabriel then started up a business called Smokin G’s Fine BBQ in August 2020, where he was able to cater for large events, as well as made plates for several smaller events. Gabe continued his education and graduated welding school through Cal Trade Welding School in Modesto in June 2023.
Gabriel became a daddy on September 30th, 2022. Gabe’s favorite role in life had become being a daddy. And he was perfect at it. He was so soft and gentle with her. His priorities shifted to making sure she was always loved and taken care of. He is her protector. Brielle and Gabe loved playing together. Brielle loved talking to her daddy, and Gabe somehow always knew the perfect words to say back to her. They were the best cuddle buddies, always snuggling. He thrived on his “daddy/daughter time”.
Gabriel had a passion for barbequing, playing football with friends, camping, go fishing, hiking, riding his bike and walking his dogs. He even sometimes enjoyed working out at the gym…sometimes. Gabe also liked to explore new places and try new foods, beers and whiskeys. But home was his favorite place to be. Gabe loved having people over to have a party or to just hang out. Gabe’s home was a gathering place for all family and friends. He also enjoyed building things and working on projects around the house.
Gabriel is survived by his wife Marissa Turner and daughter Brielle Turner. He is also survived by his mother Letitia Lindsey and his siblings Faith Turner, Mercy Stanley and Elijah Stanley. Gabe also leaves behind so many loving extended family members and friends.
Gabe was a beautiful man, inside and out. He was created perfect with a kind heart and loving soul. He was the most loving, selfless and honorable person that everyone aspired to be. He was nothing short of incredible. He will always hold a special place in everyone’s heart and will be greatly missed.
