Elizabeth was born in Lansing, Michigan to Edward and Mabel Cooley. She graduated from high school in Williamston, Michigan and attended college at Michigan State University and University of Michigan. On September20,1942, she was married to Lorain "Larry" Dunn. The following February Lorain was called to serve in the U.S. Army and soon thereafter, Elizabeth left college to follow him as he was stationed in several states. In 1954 the family of five left Michigan and moved to a home in Modesto where Elizabeth lived until her passing. After raising three children, Elizabeth worked for Storer Transportation as a school bus driver for 12 years. After working as a school bus driver, Elizabeth volunteered with the Modesto Police Department and in 1996 received the coveted "Citizen Volunteer of the Year" award. She was also a 10+ gallon blood donor at Delta Blood Bank. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband after 47 years of marriage and by her parents.
Elizabeth is survived by brother, John Cooley (Donna) of Fresno, CA; daughters Carol Perrin (Cliff) of Elk Grove, CA; Janet Mackey of Portland, TN; and son, Michael Dunn (Nanette) of Winton, CA; four grandchildren; one great grandson; and five nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was a long-time member of the Modesto Free Methodist Church. Memorial services will be held at the Free Methodist Church, 1520 Rose Ave. (corner of Briggsmore and Rose), Modesto, CA on Saturday, Oct8 at11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to
