At the age of 95 she died on Saturday May 2,2015 in her daughters home of natural causes. In hospice care for approximately two weeks, prior to her passing, she died peacefully in her sleep. She leaves behind her son Bob Edwards and wife Saundra of Keyes, Daughter Iva Arnold of Ceres. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews, and an abundance of friends. Survived also by two brothers, James Melton and Willis Melton, one sister Shirley James , all of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her spouse Robert"Papa"Edwards in 1995, and her daughter Marvel Bowman in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.Born in Talihina, Oklahoma November 9,1919. Ada spent her early years in Oklahoma, until moving to California in 1952 with her husband and children.They came to California in a pick up truck, loaded down with all their belongings. They settled in Keyes, in 1952. She was a long time Keyes resident until her passing. She worked in different canneries,and turkey plants to help with finances. She had a strong and hard work ethic. Long known for her love of family and friends,and sense of humor. She also loved going to the casinos. She leaves behind many friends, and will be greatly missed. Take this time to give a great Thank you to Hospice. They did an Amazing job. Her service will be held at Keyes Haven of Hope Church, formerly known as Keyes Assembly of God. Service will be Friday May 8th at 11:00am, viewing Thursday May 7th 4-8pm Lakewood funeral Chapel will be in charge of services.
