Sympathies to the sons of Wilma Hansen.   I thought that lady was precious and I enjoyed her company mainly at the church, but on the phone also.  She was a rare person, loved God, and very friendly.  She lived a long, Godly life.  I will always remember her being from Alto, TX.  

To the family of Wilma Hansen,

Mrs. Hansen was always such an angel of kindness, support and friendship to my brother Frankie Lee and to my sister Diane.    She will be fondly remembered.  Our loving God will grant you peace as you hold your mother's memories close to your heart and celebrate her arrival in her forever heavenly home.

We lived across the hall and anytime we would walk by her window we would wave. She always had a smile and was dolled up. I was amazed at how well she got along alone for as "vintage" as she was.  I only imagine farm life made her strong.  She told me once that she was traveling as a young adult and got annoyed at the pace of the old people around her and she said let me travel and do all I want and when I get old I promise I will stay home.  So the story goes. She was  huge Astros fan sporting her painted spirit shoes. We are not sports fans of any kind and she just found that to be so unbelievable.  But we would have her over for the World Series and we would watch all the games and enjoy some chili dogs.  I thought about her alot during this last series, we did watch.  I hope she enjoyed the games...I know she did. 

Sincere condolences to Wilma's family from Bertha LaSalle, a cousin of the Hansen family in Independence, Kansas.

I got to know Wilma after her husband Henry (my uncle) passed away.  I visited her several times in Houston, and during each visit we would make a trip to Galveston to have lunch at Gaido's.  She always dressed up in colorful outfits and wore many pieces of her favorite jewelry.  She was a wonderful, vibrant, generous lady.  Carole Hansen
