He was born to the late Andrew and Ethel Patterson on February 21, 1935, in Houston, Texas. Bill attended school up until the 8th grade and then later got his GED while serving in the United States Army. He married Betty Jean Philpot in 1960.
He loved to travel all around the United States with his wife, daughters and grandchildren. He spent every chance he had down at the ballpark, North Houston National, after working nights at Central Freight Lines as a forklift operator. A few of Bill's favorite past times included fishing and boating on Lake Conroe, spending hours talking to" Pretty Boy", a quaker parrot. He also enjoyed riding his various motorcycles around parts of North Texas and having his granddaughters imitate the Famous "Bushwhacker" gesture! Bill is survived by two children: Jennifer Patterson, of Willis, TX and Glenna Greer married to Scott Greer, of Houston, TX; granddaughters: Jamie Patterson, of Houston, TX, Sarah Davis, of Austin, TX, Meghan, Katelyn and Erin Greer, of Houston, TX and great grandson, Jamison Patterson, of Houston, TX. He is also survived by five nephews and three nieces. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to: Little League District 25.

Visitation will be held from 4:00- 7:00p.m. on Sunday evening. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 3:00p.m. Both Visitation and funeral service will be at: Brookside Funeral Home on Lauder Rd and 59 South.
