William Bill Lambert Morris, Jr., 77, born on November 19, 1935, Dallas, Texas, passed away on Monday July 29, 2013, in Houston, Texas.
Bill graduated from Dallas Jesuit College Preparatory in 1955. During that time, he won a Texas Amateur Golf State Championship. He later attended the University of Texas at Arlington. Bill worked for 38 years at Texaco and 16 years at Anadarko as an Oil Scout and Land man. He served as president of the International Oil Scouts Association and received multiple awards for Land man of the year.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents William Lambert Morris, Sr. and Martha Phipps Morris. Survived by his wife, Kathleen Morris; son, Trey Morris; daughter, Tracy Hazleton and son-in-law, Alan Hazleton; grandchildren, Weston and Kendall Hazleton; step-son, Bryan Ruwaldt and step-daughter, Lark Ruwaldt.
A memorial service celebrating Bill’s life was held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Waltrip Funeral Directors.
