Wilbert Leo Anders, best known as “Willie,” 82 was called home to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 26, 2022, in Lake Jackson, Texas after a long and courageous battle with numerous health challenges. He was born November 8, 1939 in Schulenberg, Texas to Louis and Tillie Anders.
Willie grew up in Houston, Texas. He graduated from San Jacinto High School and attended University of Houston. He started his career with Kroger immediately after high school. After serving his country with the U.S. Army he returned to work at Kroger where he retired in 1975. After retirement he worked for Walling Company and Grocer Supply.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents: Louis and Tillie Anders, his sister: VanLee Stark and sister-in-law: Martha Anders.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years: Carolyn, daughter: Barbara Cleveland and her husband Jon of Wickenburg, AZ, son: Brian Anders of Houston, Texas, grandchildren: Jacob Nelson and Ava Cleveland of Wickenburg, AZ and many family members, friends, nieces, and nephews.
Willie enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, woodworking, fixing things, buying all types of tools from his favorite store Sears, and hanging out with friends and family. He will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held Sunday, 4/3/2022 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home 6900 Lawndale St. Houston, TX 77023 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 pm.
A short visitation will be held Monday 4/3/22 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church 100 Oak Dr. Lake Jackson, TX 77566 at 9:30 am. The Mass will begin at 10:00 am and a graveside service will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery 6900 Lawndale St. Houston, TX 77023.
