She was known as Ruth by all who loved her. Ruth met Billy Bostick and married him in June of 1954. She was a devoted mother and wife, she loved traveling and helping others.
Ruth was such a loving and caring person that in her lifetime she volunteered at age 12 as a candy striper and was a part of Women-a-glow, a ladies bible studies that she hosted in her home for years. Her favorite thing to do was traveling and she enjoyed taking others with her that otherwise didn’t get to travel, she was always planning her next adventure. Ruth loved Jesus and made it her personal mission that all of her family knew Jesus.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy G. Bostick; sisters, Jane Jetton, Hilda Hyde; brother, Ray Richardson and parents, Hazel M. and Irven Richardson.
She is survived by her sister, Laura Bortmas; sons, Billy Bostick, Jr. and wife Judy, Carl Bostick, wife Donna, Sam Bostick; daughter, Pam Knighten, and husband Dan Knighten; daughter-in-law, Lynn Bostick. She had eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Vennie will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A committal service will occur Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
