Valentin Rene Cano, 80, of Houston passed peacefully at home September 30, 2014. He was born to the late Manuel and Rita Cano on February 14, 1934 in Weslaco Tx. He served in the Navy from 1952-1956. He is survived by his wife Linda Cano, children: Leonard Dillehay, Frances Spivey, Ramsey Cano, Yvette Figueroa, Adrian Cano, Jacqueline Esqueda. Sister, Nina Cano, nieces: Margo Perez, Maxine Longoria, and Michelle Mendoza. Nephew, Roy Abelano. Along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his sister Irma Abeldano. Valentin enjoyed his morning walks, sports and watching old movies. Most importantly, Rene was an incredible "Wello" who took joy in spending quality time with his grandchildren. He was very proud of them and they brought out a special light in him.
