Born May 9, 1938 in Brookshire, Texas to Felicitas Barron Gonzales and Pedro Gonzales. He was one of 7 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his six siblings, and his beautiful wife Amparo Salazar Gonzales, who he married on November 2, 1956. He is survived by his 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews and two dogs.
Over the years he worked many different jobs to support his family. He was a boat builder, a truck driver, a Precinct 6 reserve deputy constable, and business owner. He survived a gun shot wound when he was robbed coming home from work as a teenager and he survived being struck by a vehicle while working as a reserve deputy constable. His strong will to survive was a testament to his true spirit.
Tony retired in 2002 and he spent his retirement days helping raise his grandchild Olivia, collecting and admiring antique vehicles, visiting with family and friends, and listening to religious programs. In his final days in life, his body grew weaker and he was ultimately called home to our Lord. He would not want anyone to be in despair, but to remember the way he was full of life and love for you all.
