Marshall grew up in Houston and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1990. He worked as an accountant for his dad’s firm – Moss & Company after graduation.
Marshall worked in the IT field for Imperial Sugar Company in Sugar Land, TX and Texas Instruments in Lewisville, TX before moving to Plano, TX to work at Electronic Data Systems/ Hewlett-Packard.
When his dad passed away, Marshall moved back to Houston and took a job with Continental Airlines. Three years later, he started working in the DFW Airport for TSA in their IT department, tired of commuting from Houston to Bedford after a year he decided to stay grounded in Houston. Marshall retired early from National Oilwell Varco (NOV) in 2021. He really enjoyed working in the IT field and accepted every challenge with an open mind and the ultimate goal of problem solving.
Marshall was also actively involved in the care of his mother and his family.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W. and Genevieve B. Moss & brother Michael Moss.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Jennifer K. Moss and his dog Snoopy. He is also survived by numerous brothers in law and sisters in law Greg Hubbard & wife Gayla, Scott Hubbard & wife Kathi, Jeff Hubbard & wife Bonney, Jon Hubbard & wife Melinda, as well as cousins Lisa Dietz and husband Henry & Jolie Fleming and husband Scott. Marshall was an avid football and music fan. He loved the University of Texas Longhorns, the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys – (although he wouldn’t admit to that publicly). He loved music, with classic rock being his genre of choice. His absolute favorite band was Rush. We attended many concerts throughout the years of his favorite bands. He enjoyed doing things outside such as walking, swimming and visiting various parks in the area.
Growing up, he enjoyed spending summers and weekends at the family’s Lakehouse on Lake Conroe where he enjoyed boating. He was also involved in extracurricular activities after school such as football. He played football throughout high school and went on to play in college. When he attended junior high, he played basketball and while in high school he played football. He also enjoyed hunting with his dad throughout the years. He was also a short-wave radio operator. He enjoyed listening to short wave radios, police scanners and enjoyed criminal programs on television. He enjoyed old war movies that he watched every patriotic holiday. He also enjoyed gaming on game systems i.e., Nintendo, Xbox and computer gaming. He was an excellent funny & kind friend, husband and “daddy” to our dogs.
The family would like to thank Bianca, Alicia & Aranae of Cornerstone Caregiving for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days.

Marshall was the most casual person and would not want anybody to be uncomfortable. With that being said – he would not want anybody to “dress up” for a celebration of life service. He complained about wearing a suit and tie often. Please dress comfortably and suit and tie only if you desire.
