Theresa LaNell Poehl, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on November 16, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on March 17, 1950, in Houston, Texas, Theresa lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
Theresa was the cherished daughter of RJ and LaNell Poehl. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ronald Poehl, as well as her nephews, Christopher Poehl and Christopher Welch. While her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her loved ones, her legacy of kindness and strength will continue to inspire those she touched.
On May 17, 1969, Theresa married Daniel Gene Pampell, the love of her life, at St. Jerome Catholic Church. Their love story began in their teenage years and blossomed over 44 wonderful years of marriage until Danny’s death. Together, they raised three beautiful children: Shannon John Pampell, Jolie Marie Thompson, and Mollie Danielle Pampell. Theresa's dedication to her family was unwavering, and she embraced her role as a mother with grace and compassion.
She is survived by her children, who carry forward her spirit of love and resilience; her son-in-law, Russell Thompson; and her daughter-in-law, Michelle Pampell. Theresa was also a proud grandmother to Keely Pampell, Keeton Pampell, Keela Pampell, Emily Thompson, and Ella Thompson, all of whom brought her immense joy and happiness.
Theresa was a graduate of Spring Woods High School and spent her professional life dedicated to education, retiring from CyFair Independent School District, where she forged countless friendships that lasted a lifetime. Her calling extended beyond her career; she was an active member of the Catholic Charismatic Center with Danny for over 30 years and St. Maximilian Catholic Church became her new home over the past ten years. Her faith and commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ was inspiring and contagious.
Born on St. Patrick's Day, Theresa proudly celebrated her Irish heritage, making each and every birthday a day to be celebrated and remembered. Known for her ability to connect with anyone, she had a unique gift of making friends wherever she went. Her strength and inspiration were evident in her everyday life, as she approached each moment with a loving heart and an open spirit.
As a sister to Donna Marie Welch and an aunt to Kim Levandowski and Timothy Welch, Theresa also nurtured deep family ties that spanned generations. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the love she shared abundantly.
Theresa LaNell Poehl will be remembered not only for her unwavering faith and devotion to her family but also for her vibrant spirit that brought people together. Her laughter, her stories, and her kindness will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her body rest in eternal peace and her soul dance with her one true love Danny.
