Theodore Sims Johnson Jr. (Ted) was born March 12, 1956, in Houston, Texas. He was the 4th child born to Theodore Johnson Sr. and Jane Johnson. He grew up on the Northside of town in his early years in Trinity Gardens. He attended Rosa Lee Easter Elementary School.
Theodore (“Ted”) later moved with his parents to the southside of town in Riverside Terrace, where he attended Roberts Elementary and Miller Junior high where he played football. He also attended Jack yates High School where he continued to play football until graduating in 1975.
Theodore gave his life to Christ and became a member of Grace Congregational Church under the leadership of Dr. R. L. Finney. Later on in his life, he became a member of Shiloh Church Steps of Faith Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Naomi Y. Archie.
Theodore (“Ted”) went to work for Smith Industries for many years. He later went to work for HISD where he was a school bus driver until he retired.
Before Theodore “Ted” retired from HISD he met on his job the love of his life, Felicia Jones. On May 16th 2006 the tired the knot and became one. Mr. & Mrs. Theodore Johnson for 18 years of holy matrimony. A marriage the was truly blessed by God.
On November 9, 2024 Theodore “Ted” went home to be with the Lord, he is preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Stafford Sr. his grandmother Eldonia Stafford on his mother side. His grandfather Earnest Johnson, his grandmother Lovella Johnson, his father Theodore Johnson Sr., his brother Earnest Johnson, his brother George “Tony” Johnson and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Theodore “Ted” leaves to mourn, his wife Felicia Johnson, his stepsons Terrance Allen and Calvin Allen, his stepdaughter Sharda’ Allen, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. His mother Jane Ellen Johnson, his sister Brenda Bob, his brother Ricky Johnson Sr., his sister Koquina Brown, his foster sister Sonora Thomas, Temetria Thoms and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
