Terrie was born in Sealy, Texas on November 5, 1946, to Edwin Louis Remmert and Estelle Jeanette Abel Remmert. Her love of life and energy as a child led to the nickname of “Skeeter,” which followed her well into adulthood. She was baptized into the Christian faith as a small child and was later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy. She spent her younger years playing the tenor saxophone in the Sealy High School marching band and later went on to obtain her associate degree from Blinn College in Brenham, Texas.
As an adult she thrived on the entrepreneurial spirit of owning her own company with husband, Carl Wintz. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, playing dominoes at family gatherings and treating friends and family to superb home-cooked meals. Terrie had a kind heart and loved getting to know people. She was always eager to help others and never “met a stranger.”
Terrie is survived by her loving family including her daughter Nicole and her husband Will Schorp and their three children Marshall, Michael and Hudson of Houston, Texas. Her sister Debbie and her husband Robert Fait, nephew David, niece Amanda and her fiancée Lawson Hembree. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Carl Frederick Wintz, and her parents Edwin and Estelle Remmert of Sealy, Texas.
A celebration of life service is scheduled Saturday, July 20th at 10 AM at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home, 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, TX 77018.
