Last week, Teresa R. Flores, rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings.
In San Diego, Texas, born as the third child of a family of six to L. Felix Ramos and Maria J. Ramos. The family relocated to Houston, Texas in 1970. She attended MacArthur High School. She wed Oscar Flores Jr. on April 6, 1996. In the symbolic ceremony, she took the hands of Oscar’s two children, as they started their lives together. She became a mother in September of that year, as she gave birth to Maria Alicia and the next year followed Elias Samuel. In the Aldine area of Houston, she and Oscar settled on the same block where she grew up, with the best neighbors, her parents. On this street, everyone is either a longtime resident or family, where so many great memories were made. She took pride in being a domestic engineer (homemaker), she was able to be a stay-at-home mom, while Oscar’s career as a truck driver took him on the road. She was very involved with her children’s education and hobbies. Encouraging each to find their niche and make their mark on the world. She was a wonderful cook and loved to share her gift with others. Teresa never met a stranger; she would greet everyone with a smile and warm embrace. She was a true friend, always there to lend an ear or hand. She had many life-long friends, and she will be greatly missed.
Teresa was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. She was a pillar of her community and always volunteered at community events. She was also an active member of the church. She did all this while caring for her four children and loving husband.
Teresa is survived by her mother, Maria J. Ramos, her husband Oscar Flores Jr., her children Lauren B. Flores, Michael Flores, Maria Alicia Flores and Elias Flores, and her siblings, Veronica Ramos Colston, Judith Ramos Diaz (Eladio), Catherine Ramos Saldivar (Ricardo), Claudia Ramos (Dominic Chavez), and Felix Ramos. She had many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews that she loved dearly and they all lovingly called her Tia Teresa (TT).
Teresa is preceded in death by her father, L. Felix Ramos.
Her family welcomes you to join them in the Celebration of Life ….
