Susan Elizabeth Maxwell

in Buffalo, NY to William & Marie Nelson Maxwell.

After moving to Houston with her family, she graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1973. She was an active member of the Spring Branch/Memorial ARC since first coming to Houston and enjoyed all of the activities, dances, special events and many friends she made there. An enthusiastic Special Olympian, she loved basketball, but her favorite sport was bowling. She was very proud of her large collection of medals. She was a founding resident of the Reach Unlimited Community where her fellow residents & Reach staff became her second family.

Sunny by nature, with a quick sense of humor, she accepted life as it happened. She led a rich & active life with her immediate & her extended family. Her father William Maxwell predeceased her. She is survived by her mother Marie Maxwell, her brother Fred (Denice), her sister Catherine Greaves (Carlos) and her brother John (Zita) plus her nieces & nephews and their children.

A memorial service will be held on November 12, 2022 at 10:00 am at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway in Houston with a reception to follow. Donations may be made to Reach Unlimited, Inc., 11832 Mueller-Cemetery Road, Cypress, Texas 77429 if you so desire.
