Steven grew up in Des Moines and attended Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa before moving to Houston Texas in 1968 and worked as assistant distribution manager for Nabisco in Houston for over 30 years.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents Verna & Richard Doty and his former wife Linda (Billings) Doty.
He is survived by one son, Eric Doty and his wife, Nita Doty of Seadrift, Texas; one daughter, Stephanie Doty of Stafford, Texas; and grandchildren, Gareth Doty, Elise Doty, Tarah (h. Cody) Sublett, Marliegh Doty, and Addison Doty. Steven is also survived by his sisters, Kristine Doty and Kathleen Doty.
Steven loved adventure, camping and traveling , he also had a deep love of books and music. He had an amazing sense of humor, always finding humor in everything & loved to make people laugh. His love of music and his humor what he is most known & remembered for by anyone who met him. He will be deeply missed.
