Shirley Ann (Ealy) Jones was born January 1, 1946 in Campti, LA to Mr. Willie & Essie (Ealy) Jones. Shirley was the fifth child out of ten siblings. At an early age, the family later moved to Houston, TX. Not having much of a childhood, she had to take on a “BIG” role caring for her brothers and sisters.
Living her life, she attended Carverdale High School in Cy-fair ISD and graduated in 1964. She also attended TSU for two years. Moving forward with her life as an adult, she had three children of her own: Joslynn, Gregory (Greg) and Jean’ Paul (Sean).
To provide for her family, she began working in food service at Luby’s for fifteen years and Cy-Fair ISD until her retirement in 2016. Not being the one to sit around and do “Nothing”, she would turn to cooking &
baking. And Boy!! She could do both. Family & friends would have her to cook for birthdays and family reunions.
Another pastime that she loved, was the Casinos. Whenever there was a bus trip, you could not miss her.
As life began to slow her down, on Tuesday September 3rd, God peacefully called her home.
She is preceded in death by her son Jean’ Paul (Sean) Jones, Her parents Willie & Essie (Ealy) Jones. Four brothers: Jimmy (JB) Ealy, Willie (Jr) Ealy, of Detroit, MI and Andrew Jones of Houston, TX.
