Sharon Kay Sheffield Fore died February 6, 2015 at home in Houston, Texas after a long battle with MDS and AML. A native Houstonian, she was born on March 13, 1955 and was the third of four children of Jasper Thomas Sheffield and Dorothy Katherine Cash Sheffield.
The family moved to Conroe, Texas when Sharon was a junior in high school. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a major in accounting. She became a CPA and held various managerial and accounting positions throughout her career.
Sharon’s favorite “jobs” were mother, grandmother and auntie to her nieces, nephews, and their children.
Sharon loved traveling, playing golf and bridge, and gardening.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper (JT) and Dorothy Sheffield. She is survived by her children, Katherine McNeely Foster, Matthew Thomas Foster and his wife Alicia Foster, her two grandchildren, Jasper and Autumn Foster; sisters Gwyn Boyter and husband Vance Boyter, Dede Scott and husband Mike Scott, and brother Michael Sheffield and wife Elizabeth Sheffield, seven nieces and nephews, and nine great nieces and nephews.
A private service was held on February 11, 2015 with internment at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston. A celebration open house will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Sharon’s home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial gift to Golfers Against Cancer or the charity of your choice.
