Sebastian (Mike) Manis

Sebastian (Mike) Manis, 86, passed away Sunday, March 2nd, 2014 at his home in Austin, Texas. Mike was born December 14th 1927 to Anthony and Josephine Manis in Houston, Texas, the younger of two children.

He graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in business in 1953. He went on to start his own business as a manufactures representative and eventually retired in 1990.

Mike served in the Navy in WWII as a cook on an aircraft carrier from 1945 to 1948. He met his beautiful bride shortly after his service in the Navy and they were married on June 10th, 1950. Mike loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Sebastian (Mike) Manis is survived by his wife, Catherine; sons, Michael (Cynthia) Manis and Anthony (Kay) Manis; daughter Michele (Larry) Granzin; grandchildren Toni and husband Jason Sanchez, Kimberly Manis and TinkerGranzin; great grandson Koby Lunsford. He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Josephine Manis, daughter Marie Manis, sister Lula (Manis) Logan and grandson Christopher Lunsford.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday March 6th starting at 5:00pm followed by a Rosary at 8:00, at Dignity Forest Park Westheimer, 12800 Westheimer,Houston, Texas 77077.

Graveside service will be held Friday at 10:00am at Dignity Forest Park Westheimer, 12800 Westheimer, Houston, Texas 77077.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Thomas High School or St. Agnes Academy both located in Houston, Texas or a charity of your choice.
