Sandra Gail Riebeling

After a courageous battle with cancer, Sandra Gail Riebeling died at home surrounded by her family on the evening of December 7th, 2016, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 62. She is loved and missed by her family: her first husband and good friend Robert Riebeling, their children Rachel and Ryan, her husband Rick Bailey, her stepchildren Jessica, John, and Jimmy, her sister Donna, and her niece Stephanie. Sandra is also survived by her treasured grandchildren: Ava and Levi, Jordan, Renee, Tiger and Peyton, Ethan, Audrey and Nathaniel.

Sandra was born on June 27, 1953 in Houston, to father Melvin Maxwell Bates and mother Mary Johnnie Bates. The third of four children, she was raised in the Houston Heights. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Maxwell and Douglas.

Sandra lives on in our memories as a fun-loving, devoted, strong woman. She was a wonderfully loving wife, mother, sister, Nana, and friend. She was beautiful, kind, vivacious, and fiercely protective of those she loved. When diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2015, she was dedicated to fighting and beating her illness. She remained brave and iron-willed, an inspiration to her family and friends, even through her final weeks.

Sandra requested to be cremated. There will be a visitation on Sunday, December 11th between 5:00 and 8:00 pm and a Memorial Service on Monday at 1:00pm at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Fwy, Houston, TX 77039.
