Ruthie Beatrice Moore

On February 01, 1943 in Pineville, Louisiana, a blessed day occurred when Ruthie Beatrice Dorsey was born to the proud parents Wilbert Dorsey and Lillie Mae Dorsey, who have preceded her in death. She was the eldest of 7 siblings, 3 of which preceded her in death: Wilbert Jr., Mary Moore, and Eddie Dorsey. Ruthie departed this life on January 12, 2021 to go and take an eternal rest with the Lord.

Ruthie Dorsey accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. Ruthie’s formal education included a 2-year business degree. Throughout her life she was a nurse, employed by the Houston Chronicle and the owner of an Electrolysis business. She enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, dominoes and going fishing. Ruthie married McCain Moore Jr. on June 23, 1961; and to this union, three children were born: Arlina Wicker (Damon Wicker), Cherrina Scott, and Tracy Allen (Henry Allen).

She leaves to cherish her memory surviving family members: six grandchildren: (Andre Wicker, (who preceded her in death) and Damon Wicker Jr., Chloe Wicker, Candice Rose, Joshua Scott, Arrianna Allen and Brie Allen). 5 great-grandchildren: (Tamiya Wicker, Dreya Wicker, Asia Rose, Chanel Rose, and Micah Rose). One sister; Ethel Thomas. Three surviving brothers: David Dorsey, Kenneth Ray Dorsey, and Frank Dorsey, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
