Went to be with the Lord on November 27, 2023 after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. We are comforted in knowing that he is no longer in pain, and is now whole and resting in Heaven with Jesus.
Revelation 21:4 says, “‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.””
Rusty was born on January 5th to parents Russell O. Paull and Elizabeth (Betty) Carriere Paull Eckhardt. Rusty was a lifelong Houston area resident.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by wife of 18 years, Nancy. He is also survived by daughters Shelley Price (Jason), Lauren Paull (Sierra), Angela Burrer (Erich) and Amber Hopkins (Rodney). He is also survived by his grandchildren Jonathon, Kylie, Abbey, Connor and Kinley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that were family.
Rusty was our very own handyman; he could fix just about anything. He had a heart full of love and a garage full of tools. He adored his grandchildren and could not wait for the next adventure with them. Whether it was watching them play sports, helping him play card games, building something in the garage together or baking cookies in the kitchen. He also had a love of the outdoors, from fishing to flying kites. Rusty also never met a stranger who didn’t become a friend. If you wore an Astros hat, or any sports hat, around him good luck getting him quiet.
A celebration of Rusty’s life will take place on January 6, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Lake Houston Methodist Church in Huffman, TX. The family requests that everyone dress for a celebration. If you own a Hawaiian shirt or Astros gear, please wear it.
