Rudy was born August 17, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Sylvia and Nicho Rodriguez. He grew up on the Northside of Houston, where a majority of his family still resides. Independent of where he lived, his heart and soul was, is, and will always reside on the Northside! Everyone that knew Rudy, knew he ate, slept and breathed the Northside!
Rain, sleet or snow Rudy faithfully attended church every Sunday. He was very close to his siblings, and loved watching Houston sports with them after church. He loved Houston sports about as much as he loved Texas Lottery Pick 3 (that he played almost every day)! He was a die-hard fan that supported the good ol’ “Luv Ya Blue” Oilers, the Rockets winning back-to-back Championships, and even the recent horrible Houston Texans! In Rudy's early life he joined the Miller Lite Company for 20 years, he then moved on to join the City of Houston; Parks and Recreation, for a total of 10 years before retiring.
Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, Sylvia Alba Rodriguez and Nicho Rodriguez and sister, Janie Rivera.
Left to cherish his memory are his children; Arlene A. and husband Ray Hernandez, Rudy Jr. and wife Linda Rodriguez, Able and wife Belinda Rodriguez; 10 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters, Irene Salias, Yolanda Rodriguez and Carmen Rodriguez; brothers, Carlos Rodriguez Sr. and Tommy Rodriguez.
Serving as pallbearers: Robert Rodriguez, Roland Rodriguez, Rudy Rodriguez III, Able Anthony Rodriguez, Able Rodriguez Jr., Tommy Rivera, Jonathan Guzman and Pete Corpus.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ForestParkLawndaleFH.com for the Rodriguez family.
