September 7, 2022. He is survived by his wife Annie Chavez Espinosa of 26 years, the mother of his children Yolanda Romo Vasquez, his daughters Gwen Espinosa, Bernadette Revilla (husband Paul), Tricia Espinosa, Yolanda Casas (husband Eddie), son Michael Espinosa (wife Christina), step son Michael Castro (wife Ann), step son Tim Castro (wife Pat), and sisters Becky Patterson and Anna Espinosa. He was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Mary Espinosa, brothers’ Michael, Robert, Ralph Espinosa, and brother in law Ronnie Patterson, grandson Christopher Joseph Espinosa.
Together with his blended family, Rudy has twenty grandchildren, eight greatgrandchildren with two more on the way. Rudy attended Edison Jr. High and was a graduate of Milby High School where he served as a commander in the ROTC. He went on to work for Exxon Mobil in Baytown, TX for 25 years. His most
notable accomplishment in his many years at Exxon, was serving as the union chapter president. He was a devout Catholic and attended St. Andrew Catholic Church for over 30 years. It was his leadership skills that carried over into other roles such as a serving as a Fourth Degree Knight for the Knights of Columbus chapter # 3077. He also dedicated his time to serving St. Andrew’s Church in Channelview, TX as the director of their charitable kitchen. Rudy also found time to enjoy his hobbies such as trail riding. For over 30 years, he was a member of the Fort Bend County Vaqueros. He would go on to become trail boss and president of the organization. One of his most notable accomplishments within this organization in 1999, was being awarded first place trail ride in their division. In addition, he became a lifetime committee member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. His accomplishments were many as were his talents. He had a gift for writing. His writings were published in newspapers such as the Houston Chronicle as well as other media. What he was best known for, were his heartfelt letters to his children and grandchildren.
