Roy Gene Patton

Roy Gene Patton was born on November 30, 1951 in Palestine, Texas to parents Virginia Dell (Harmon) Patton and Billy Joe Patton. He is preceded in death by his father, B.J. Patton; mother, Virginia Patton; brother, Billy D. Patton; grandparents, Edward Harmon and Fannie (Teal) Harmon.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary (White) Patton; children, Heather (Patton) McKenney and husband Chad of New Caney, Texas; Roy Patton Jr. and wife Toni of New Caney, Texas; brothers, Guy Patton and Joey Patton of Latexo, Texas; brother-in-law, Robert White and Margaret of New Caney, Texas; sister-in-law, Jonelle White of Houston, Texas and Betty Burnett of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Skylar Patton, Blain Patton, Annebelle Patton and Mace McKenney of New Caney, Texas; numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.

Roy worked hard and always enjoyed his jobs. He worked for Borden Milk Company for 20 years. He then became a distributor for Clearview Ice and finally had his own distributorship for Reddy Ice until he became ill in 2009.

His family was his life. His children and grandchildren all had special places in his heart. There was never a child that Roy met that did not instantly take to him – he loved children. He was a child at heart himself.

He graduated from New Caney High School in 1970 and has remained lifelong friends with many of the people he went to school with. He was always a loving, giving, husband, father, grandfather, son, son-in-law and friend. Roy never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face and love and laughter in his heart for all.

He was at peace with his decision to discontinue dialysis, which for him, was a fatal decision. He was at peace knowing he was going to be whole again with his Savior in heaven.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 am Monday, December 21, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church with interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
