Rose was born in Houston, Texas on August 5, 1952 and attended Houston-ISD schools: Macgregor Elementary, Lanier Junior High, and Mirabeau B. Lamar High School. Always an inquisitive student, she excelled in academics at an early age. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a B.B.A. in Accounting.
Upon graduation, she was immediately selected by the accounting firm Arthur Andersen & Co. as an Audit Senior and earned her CPA certification. From there, she had a storied career as a Family Controller with Quintana Petroleum Corporation, then as a Commercial Banker and Lending Officer with Texas Commerce Bank (currently JP Morgan Chase). She was in the non-profit sector as Vice President, which covered the Texas Medical Center, along with lending responsibilities for the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the Houston Zoo, and many other Houston institutions. Rose most recently served as Vice President and Private Banker at Northern Trust Company and retired in July 2015.
Rose also volunteered and served on many leadership boards throughout the city. The local organizations that she supported were enhanced by her professionalism and dedication. After her service, she spoke of The Women’s Center of Houston with much respect and pride for its accomplishments in the Houston community.
Aside from her career, Rose had a close and diverse group of friends and family. She enjoyed picking out dining spots and planning creative extravaganzas with her culinary expertise. She also doted on her many nieces, great nieces, and nephews and was always on point remembering birthdays and special days in their lives.
