Ron, or “Nonie” as he was affectionately known by his grandchildren and great-children, grew up in Houston and graduated from old San Jacinto High School. After high school, Ron entered the U.S. Marine Corps where he served both in the U.S. and in Korea as the war was drawing to a close. After reenlisting for another term, he served as a marine guard in U.S. embassies abroad. This is where he met the beautiful soul he would soon marry, his beloved Norah, who he affectionately called “Kiky.” Upon returning to the States, Ron entered Texas A&M University from which he graduated a few years later with a degree, a wife, and two kids, Rhonda and Ronnie. Ron and Norah returned to Houston where Ron began his career in commercial mortgage lending and real estate appraising. He soon welcomed Ray, his third child into his life.
Ron and Norah worked to support the family and soon began serving their church and charitable organizations as they lived their lives in accordance with their faith. They were active at their parishes, first at St. Francis de Sales, later at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church, and ultimately at St. Michael Catholic the Archangel Catholic Church. They joined the ranks of the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre and founded a private family foundation known as Theotokos Foundation, which supported several religious orders in their missionary work in South America who have help countless children in those areas.
Ron was the youngest child born to James and Sibyl Walker. He survived all his siblings, Meredith, Jacqueline, and Carol. He is survived by his beloved wife, Norah; his daughter, Rhonda and her husband Marty, his son Ronnie and his wife DeAnn, and his son Ray; as well as five grandchildren, Aaron Stanley and his wife Ainsley, Christina McKinney and her husband Derrick, Amanda Cummings and her husband Steven, Jordan Walker and his wife Brenda, and Jacqueline Walker; and his seven great-grandchildren.
