His beloved parents were Marcelino Roda, who immigrated from Vigo, Galicia, Spain to Colon, Matanzas, Cuba at the age of 16 and Fredesvinda Rial of Cardenas, Matanzas, Cuba. Ronald Roda graduated from Padre Felix Varela High School and studied Accounting for one year at the School of Commerce of Colon. He played for the basketball team of Colon, Matanzas, Cuba. He also officiated for the Cuban Basketball League in Houston. He sold beverages for the Cuban Baseball League. He was renown in the Cuban community in Houston. He won a domino tournament at a Cuban festival, two table tennis tournaments at Mazda and was good at chess. He worked for many years at Mazda and retired in the 90's. He was a man who treasured and loved his family.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Melva Roda, his two sons, Ronald Roda Jr. and Roger Roda, his two daugther-in-laws, Elizabeth Roda and Yoseline Roda, his six grand-children, Andre Roda, Alec Roda, Madelyn Roda, Daniela Roda, Edward Roda and Roselyn Roda. He is also survived by his sister, Derina Cardet and extended family.
