Robyn Lynne Willey Bishop - Our Robbie – went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 2, 2011, at the age of 57 after a courageous battle with cancer. Robbie was born January 7, 1954 at USMC Barstow, California to Benita and Gene Willey, going home to Houston, Texas in June of 1954. She attended Waltrip High School, graduating in 1972. She was a dedicated employee of Royston, Rayzor, Vickery and Williams where she worked with a family of friends for over 35 years. She was the Voice of Royston Rayzor. She moved to Kingwood, Texas, in 1998, where she made a loving, caring home for her and her mother while graciously and generously welcoming all family and friends. Robbie was also a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Although she had a unique relationship with each family member and friend, she was a true blessing in each life, focusing on the intricate needs of each – as only Robbie could do. As every day brought new challenges, she shined through the darkness of her illness and calmed the winds of the storm, thus teaching through example – ultimate courage and strength. The cancer may have affected her body, but it could NEVER touch her heart. Robbie’s enjoyments in life included reading, music, cooking, photography, sewing, gardening and caring for her dear and precious Llaso Apso, Sydney. Robbie was preceded in death by her father Gene Willey; grandmothers Maebelle Willey and Benita Preuss Gonzales; and grandfather Maurice Willey. She is survived by mother Benita Willey; sister Monica Brown; nephew Heath Brown; uncles Larry, Johnny and especially Uncle Jimmy; many cousins whom she loved very much and many cherished friends. She is gone from our touch but can never be gone from our hearts. Her spirit will always continue to amaze us. We will always know that she is near, guiding us with her spirit as we cherish her memory. The example she set will never escape our lives. It may be through the sunshine dancing on the water or the breeze dancing through the leaves – but her love will always continue to shine brightly in our hearts and in all the hearts who loved her. The family will receive relatives and friends with a brunch Friday, May 6, 2011, at 9:00 am and memorial services immediately following at 10:00am in the chapel of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
